Our Mission
At The Sewing Bar, our mission is to empower children by building confidence through sewing. Guided by our slogan, “Always Celebrating, Always Creating,” we create a fun and inspiring environment where kids are celebrated for their creativity and accomplishments. Our classes go beyond teaching practical skills—they incorporate the joy of holidays, birthdays, and special occasions, helping children make themed projects and festive creations while building imagination, self-expression, and lifelong skills.
About Us
Meet Ms Allison
At 27 years old, Allison has been sewing since she was 8. She graduated from Western Michigan University in 2020 with a degree in Fashion Design and completed a design internship with Kate Spade in New York City. Graduating during the onset of COVID-19, she joined Elena Victoria Fine Arts as a lead sewing instructor, teaching sewing camps for children across Illinois and Michigan. Shortly after, she opened a storefront called Clothing Bar, where she ran her boutique for five years, bringing her love of fashion, creativity, and celebration to the local community.
As a full-time entrepreneur and an active babysitter, Allison noticed a lack of kids’ sewing classes in Southwest Florida that went beyond the basics—especially ones that focused on making clothing and building real skills while celebrating creativity along the way. Seeing this opportunity, she created Sewing Bar, a hands-on sewing “school” designed to inspire children, foster confidence, and teach valuable skills. Passionate about celebrations, holidays, and birthdays, Allison brings her love of excitement and creativity into every class, making learning to sew a fun and memorable experience.

Hayden is almost 13 and has been sewing with Ms. Allison for over a year. She is passionate about creativity, volleyball, and her two dogs, Bear and Palmer.
Hayden was the very first student trained to assist with Sewing Bar birthday parties, and we truly couldn’t do it without her! Her positive attitude, patience, and sewing skills make every class more fun and successful.

With many years of sewing under her belt, Autumn is the perfect addition as a Sewing Bar assistant! At just 13 years old, she’s already running her own business, Furever Fashions. When she’s not sewing up a storm, Autumn can be found horseback riding and exploring her creative passions- such as art and photography!

Miss Kylie
She joined us in August 2025 and has been obsessed with the sewing machine ever since. An avid crocheter, Kylie loves creating in all forms, and when she’s not crafting, she’s taking care of her dog, Biscuit. She assists our younger groups on Thursdays and is always the biggest help in the room!
Meet the Sewing Bar Dog - Cashew!
Cashew
Cashew is our 2-year-old nutty pup who steals hearts (and occasionally fabric scraps) at The Sewing Bar! He LOVES welcoming all the kiddos who come through the door and is always ready with tail wags, cuddles, and moral support during sewing projects. 🧵💕
